Reviewing the Market Abuse Regime - European Commission Conference

The Commission (DG Internal Market and Services) organised a conference on the Market Abuse Directive (MAD) held in Brussels on 12 November 2008. The conference brought together senior policy makers, regulators, industry experts and academia to discuss the review of MAD.
Four panels debated the different topics:
- scope of application of the Market Abuse Directive
- disclosure of inside information, inside dealing
- market manipulation
- sanctions for market abuse
